Caring for Your Jewellery

Our pieces are crafted in zinc alloy with a fine gold-tone plating. With a little care, their shine stays beautiful for far longer — here's how.

The Essentials

Four Golden Rules

Remember these and your plating will thank you.

Keep it Dry

Remove before bathing, swimming, or washing hands. Moisture is plating's biggest enemy.

Last thing On

Apply perfume, lotion, and hairspray first. Put your jewellery on only once they've dried.

Wipe after Wear

A gentle pass with a soft, dry cloth after each wear lifts away skin oils and sweat.

Store it Apart

Keep each piece in its own pouch so they don't rub, scratch, or tangle together.

A Gentle Ritual

How to Clean at Home

Three soft steps — never harsh chemicals or scrubbing.

01

Mild & Soapy

Mix a drop of gentle soap into lukewarm water. Dip a soft cloth — never soak the piece itself.

02

Wipe, Don't Scrub

Glide the cloth over the surface in soft strokes. Avoid brushes or anything abrasive on the plating.

03

Pat Fully Dry

Dry at once with a clean soft cloth and let it air a moment before returning it to its pouch.

Do & Don't

The quick list to keep your pieces their brightest.

Please Do

  • Take pieces off before sleeping, exercising, or chores
  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight
  • Use the pouch or box your piece arrived in
  • Tuck a silica sachet into your jewellery box
  • Handle by the edges to keep oils off the surface

Please Avoid

  • Perfume, deodorant, or lotion directly on the piece
  • Water — showering, swimming, washing up
  • Harsh cleaners, toothpaste, or chemical dips
  • Tossing pieces together in one box or drawer
  • Sweat-heavy activity — gym, sport, hot yoga
Keep It Lasting

The Art of Storage

Where and how you keep a piece matters as much as how you wear it.

DRY
Individual pouchesEach piece in its own soft pouch prevents scratches and tangling between items.
A dry, dark spotHeat, humidity and sunlight speed up tarnish — a closed drawer or box is ideal.
Anti-tarnish helpersA silica gel sachet or a strip of chalk in the box absorbs the moisture that dulls plating.
Lay chains flatFasten the clasp and lay necklaces flat or hung so they never knot under their own weight.

Understanding plated jewellery

Gold-tone plating is a fine surface layer, so even with great care it will mellow gradually over months of wear — this is normal for all fashion jewellery and part of its nature, not a fault. Following the steps above slows it considerably and keeps your pieces looking their best for as long as possible. Need help with a specific piece? Contact our atelier.
