THE BEGINNING
A small atelier with a large ambition.
Alankar was founded in 2010 in a small workshop in the heart of Indore, by a family who believed that beautiful jewellery shouldn't be reserved only for those who could afford fine gold. The idea was simple — bring the craft, the detail, the soul of traditional Indian jewellery to pieces every woman could wear, every day, without worry.
What began with three artisans and a single workbench has grown into an atelier of fifteen — but the principle hasn't changed. Every piece is still designed in Indore, still hand-finished, still touched by human hands from beginning to end.
THE ATELIER

Every Alankar piece is born in our Indore atelier — a small, deliberate workshop where master artisans, some with us for over a decade, work alongside young apprentices learning the craft. There is no factory line. There is no machine that does what hands can do better.
Our atelier is open to visitors by appointment. We invite our customers to see how their jewellery is made — to understand the time, the patience, and the love that goes into every piece.
THE CRAFT
From sketch to finished piece.
Four deliberate steps. Each handled by an artisan who has perfected their craft over years.
STEP ONE
Design
Every piece begins with a sketch — drawn by hand, refined over weeks, often inspired by temple architecture, royal jewellery, or the quiet beauty of nature.
STEP TWO
Cast
The design is cast in premium zinc alloy using the lost-wax technique — a method passed down through generations of Indian jewellers.
STEP THREE
Plate
Each piece is electroplated with 22K gold in seven careful layers — our proprietary process that creates the depth and shine of real gold.
STEP FOUR
Finish
An anti-tarnish coating is applied, stones are set by hand, and every piece is inspected, polished, and signed before it leaves our atelier.
